Osun Election: Ex-Governor Aregbesola Claims No House Ownership While in Office

Rauf Aregbesola, the current National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former governor of Osun State, has asserted that he did not own any personal property during his two terms in office.

Aregbesola, who governed Osun State from 2010 to 2018, stated in a recently circulated video that he lived in a friend's residence in the Amuta area of Ilesa throughout his governorship. He issued a direct challenge to anyone possessing contrary information to present proof of his home ownership during that period.

"I’m the first governor in Nigeria to govern a state for eight years without owning a house of my own. I stayed in my friend’s house for eight years as governor in my fatherland," Aregbesola declared in the video. He is currently leading the ADC's governorship campaign in Osun State, following the party's campaign launch in Ile-Ife.
