Osun election: Farmers, butchers endorse Gov Adeleke

As Osun State gears up for its governorship election, Governor Ademola Adeleke has secured a significant endorsement from the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN). The farmers' group described Adeleke as "farmer-friendly" and praised his administration's policies, which they say have dramatically improved their livelihoods.

We endorse Mr Governor for re-election because he did well for Osun farmers. We were neglected for years under APC. Governor Adeleke came and changed our fortunes for the better.

Leaders of AFAN pointed to specific initiatives such as the purchase of new tractors, the completion of a farmers' secretariat, and the distribution of essential farm inputs and thousands of cocoa, cashew, and palm oil seedlings. Moshood Adepoju, a representative for the farmers, stated that Osun farmers have "never had it so good" and accused the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) of attempting to coerce their leaders.

Adding to the governor's support, the Butchers Association of Osun State also declared their backing for Adeleke's re-election bid. The association's State Chairman, Amoo Afeez, speaking in Yoruba, affirmed that the governor has positively transformed the state across all sectors, promising that the people of Osun will show their appreciation through votes.

Governor Adeleke, in response to the endorsements, thanked the associations for their support. He acknowledged their recognition of his administration's efforts in the agricultural sector and pledged to enhance these initiatives further in his second term, promising more machinery, farm inputs, and processing factories.

I am happy that our deliveries in the agriculture sector are recognised by our dear farmers. This will encourage me to do more. We will get more machinery and farm inputs as well as processing factories in our second term.
