Osun Election: Governor's Son Sees Joy on Father's Face Amid Vote Collation

Singer and businessman B-Red, son of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, expressed confidence in his father's victory in the governorship election. As the Independent National Electoral Commission collated results on Saturday evening, B-Red shared his father's apparent happiness.

"Sitting with my dad and I can see the joy and happiness on his face .... 4 + 4 = 8 OSUN," B-Red wrote on X. Governor Adeleke, running on the Accord Party platform after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party, is vying for a second term. He faces significant challenges from Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress and Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress.

The election took place across Osun State's 30 Local Government Areas and 3,763 polling units. While voting was mostly peaceful, isolated incidents were reported, including issues with BVAS accreditation, alleged voter inducement, and disruptions at some polling locations. Governor Adeleke had previously urged security agencies to protect voters and officials and appealed for peace.
