Osun election: INEC uploads 10.68% of results as collation continues

Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has initiated the process of uploading results from the Osun State governorship election held on Saturday. Voters and election observers are closely watching the INEC Results Viewing Portal (IReV), a platform introduced to boost transparency in result collation by enabling real-time viewing of polling unit results.

As of 4:03 pm on Saturday, the portal displayed 402 uploaded results from polling units, out of an expected total of 3,763. This figure represents 10.68% of the complete results. The latest upload recorded was at 4:03:10 pm from polling unit 29/02/04/006, while collation activities continue across the state's 30 local government areas.

The election features incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party seeking re-election against Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress, and other candidates. The INEC's Result Stats window on the portal is expected to show updated figures as more uploads arrive from polling units. The commission anticipates an accelerated pace of uploads as collation progresses at ward and local government levels.
