Osun poll: Davido to speak on security, INEC Wednesday

Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, is set to address journalists and the public on Wednesday concerning security matters and the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) preparations for the upcoming Osun State governorship election. The press conference is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. at Imole House in Osogbo.

Davido announced the briefing on X, stating, "I will be having a press conference tomorrow at Imole House, Osogbo, to discuss security, INEC and transparency issues." The singer, who is the nephew of Governor Ademola Adeleke, has been actively involved in the governor's re-election campaign. He was recently appointed Chairman of the Imole Youth Mobilisation Committee.

The press conference is expected to focus on concerns surrounding security, electoral transparency, and other significant issues leading up to the governorship election scheduled for Saturday. An invitation for the event described it as "Davido addresses issues (security, INEC transparency and other major issues) surrounding Osun 2026 gubernatorial election."

Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party is seeking a second term in office. Davido has played a prominent role in his uncle's campaign, spearheading youth mobilization efforts and participating in various political activities across the state.
