Published bad roads constructed under Oyetola, not Adeleke, Osun

The Osun State Government has vehemently denied allegations that a recently published advertorial depicting a failed road was built under the current administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke. The government labeled the publication as 'fake news,' asserting that the road in question was constructed during the tenure of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

The bad road published on the front page of the … newspaper today was constructed by the Oyetola administration, not the Adeleke government and the road is located at Mukoro, Ile-Ife, not Modakeke.

In a statement released by Bashiru Bello, the Permanent Secretary of the Osun State Ministry of Works, the government clarified that the road featured in the advertorial is located at Mukoro in Ile-Ife, not Modakeke as claimed. To support their assertion, the government provided Global Positioning System coordinates of the road, encouraging the public to verify its location via Google Maps. Bello emphasized that ongoing projects under the Adeleke administration have not yet reached the stage of lane markings shown in the published photograph, further discrediting the claims.

The road initiated by the Adeleke administration has not reached the level of lane marking shown in the published road. The publication is therefore simply fake news.

The government further accused the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) of attempting to attribute defects in infrastructure inherited from the previous administration to the current government. Bello stated that the Adeleke administration has been actively engaged in rehabilitating and correcting issues on projects inherited from the Oyetola administration, calling the opposition's attempt to shift blame 'deceitful.' This exchange occurs amidst heightened political tension in Osun State, with the ruling party and the APC trading accusations over governance and security.

The Adeleke administration has been doing a lot of remediation and corrective work on several projects inherited from the Oyetola administration. The attempt of Osun APC to push its defects on the Adeleke government is therefore deceitful.
