Osun poll: Ex-lawmaker urges peace, responsible political conduct

Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a former member of the Osun State House of Assembly, has appealed to political actors and residents of Osun State to prioritize peace and responsible political engagement in the lead-up to the August 15 governorship election. Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made these remarks during an empowerment program for informal workers held at his campaign office in Ibokun.

Oyintiloye emphasized that the APC is a peaceful political party and urged all stakeholders and the public to foster tolerance. The empowerment program, which benefited informal workers such as barbers, hairdressers, welders, and market women, was presented as a testament to his dedication to the welfare of ordinary citizens. He encouraged the beneficiaries to view the gesture as a reflection of his commitment to their livelihoods, particularly those dependent on daily businesses and skills.

During the event, Oyintiloye urged participants to actively participate in the election by voting for Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji and the APC. He assured them that their support would lead to tangible dividends of governance, with an Oyebamiji-led administration prioritizing inclusive governance, economic empowerment, skills development, and enhanced opportunities for the informal sector.

Comrade Tijani Bello, speaking on behalf of the artisans and informal workers, expressed gratitude for the gesture, linking it to the administration of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
