Osun poll: Ikubese congratulates Adeleke, advises against legal tussles

Dr. Thomas-Wilson Ikubese, a former presidential aspirant and convener of the YesWeFit Revolutionary Movement, has extended congratulations to Governor Ademola Adeleke following his re-election victory in the Osun State gubernatorial race. Ikubese, speaking from Akure, the capital of Ondo State, urged all candidates to set aside legal disputes and instead work collaboratively with Governor Adeleke for the betterment of Osun State.

I congratulate Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory as declared by INEC in his re-election bid.

Ikubese stated that the election outcome accurately reflects the will and aspirations of the people of Osun State. He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring the people's choice prevailed, while also suggesting areas for improvement in future electoral processes. He specifically acknowledged the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) candidate, Dr. Saliu Oyelami, describing him as a "friend and professional colleague" who performed well, and encouraged him to share his developmental visions with the governor.

In a separate advisory, Ikubese cautioned Chief Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho, regarding his public appearances at political rallies. Ikubese warned that such involvement could lead to Igboho's security outfit, Iru Ekun, being perceived as politically aligned, potentially creating unnecessary complications. He emphasized the importance of unity and encouraged Governor Adeleke to engage with all other candidates to foster a collective approach towards the state's development.

I urge him to reach out to all other candidates, foster unity and encourage them to share their manifestos for the overall development of Osun State.

Ikubese concluded by calling on all Nigerians to actively participate in voting, reinforcing the idea that their votes are impactful. He reiterated that manipulating results becomes a "Herculean task" when faced with a significant number of votes cast by the populace. He urged Adeleke to commence work immediately on fulfilling his electoral promises to the citizens of Osun State.
