#OsunDecides2026: Adeleke accuses police of bringing personnel from Rivers to cause mayhem in hometown

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has accused the police of orchestrating violence during the #OsunDecides2026 elections by deploying personnel from Rivers State. He specifically pointed to an officer known by the nickname 'London,' allegedly brought from Port Harcourt.

Adeleke stated that this officer's presence in Ede, his hometown, is intended to create chaos and intimidate voters. "The police officer that they brought to come…the APC in Osun, is from Port Harcourt; they call him by his nickname 'London.' He's here in Ede. His own job is to come and destroy Ede, and then avoid, so that they can scare people... so that they block votes,” the governor said.

The governor's allegations suggest a deliberate attempt to manipulate the electoral process through intimidation and disruption. The presence of external police personnel, according to Adeleke, is part of a plan to suppress voter turnout and influence the election's outcome in his hometown.
