The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as governor of Osun State. The party described his victory in Saturday's governorship election as a clear reflection of the confidence the people of the state have in his leadership.

The Peoples Democratic Party warmly congratulates the Executive Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his well-deserved victory.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mohammed Jungudo, the PDP acknowledged the significance of Adeleke's second term. The party noted the unique political circumstances, as Adeleke contested and won on the platform of the Accord Party, while the PDP expressed pride in its contributions to Osun State's democratic development.

Adeleke secured his re-election by defeating the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji. The final results from the Independent National Electoral Commission showed Adeleke winning with 511,067 votes against Oyebamiji's 444,815, a margin of 66,252 votes. Adeleke carried 19 of the state's 30 local government areas.

While Governor Adeleke has chosen to pursue his political journey on the platform of the Accord Party, the PDP remains proud of its contributions to the democratic development of Osun State.

This victory marks a significant increase in Adeleke's electoral margin compared to the 2022 election. The PDP urged Adeleke to use this mandate to focus on governance and the welfare of the people, emphasizing the need for political actors to prioritize the interests of Osun State and Nigeria above partisan considerations.
