Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has congratulated his Osun State counterpart, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election for another term. Adeleke, the candidate for the Accord Party, was declared the winner of the Osun State governorship election held on August 15, 2026, by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Oyebanji, in a statement released on Sunday, hailed Adeleke's victory as a clear expression of the wishes of the majority of Osun voters. He urged Adeleke to be magnanimous in victory and to collaborate with other contestants for the prosperity of Osun State.

The Ekiti governor specifically commended President Bola Tinubu for fostering a level playing field during the election. Oyebanji believes this contributed significantly to reducing tension and ensuring a fair contest. He also extended congratulations to the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, for his strong challenge, and applauded Osun APC members for their efforts.

Oyebanji advised Osun APC members to learn from the election and strategize for future contests.
