#OsunDecides2026: Physically-challenged voter praises officials for priority treatment

Aminat Akinsola, a physically challenged voter in Osun State, commended election officials for ensuring a smooth and respectful voting experience during the governorship election. Akinsola cast her ballot at Polling Unit 6, Ward 4, in Ejigbo, where she received priority during both the accreditation and voting stages.

"I’m so happy because I was treated with respect while I was trying to cast my vote. I was even the first person to be accredited," Akinsola shared, expressing her gratitude for the consideration shown towards her condition. This arrangement allowed her to participate without the usual difficulties of waiting in long queues.

Akinsola also noted the peaceful atmosphere at the polling unit, highlighting the overall positive conduct of the election. She expressed hope that the final outcome of the election would accurately represent the will of the people of Osun State.

Security personnel were deployed to maintain order and facilitate the voting process. Additionally, young voters were grouped by gender to manage crowds effectively. These measures, alongside the priority given to voters like Akinsola, aimed to ensure a well-managed and inclusive electoral exercise across the state as residents chose their next governor.
