Over 100 orphaned children abandoned in Rutshuru after aid center closure

More than 100 orphaned children in the Rubare locality of Rutshuru territory, North Kivu, face dire circumstances after the closure of the "Club Changer la Vie" center. The organization has issued an urgent appeal for assistance, highlighting the plight of these vulnerable children.

The center had served as a vital refuge for orphans in the region, but war and insufficient funding forced its closure. Now, the children who were under its care are dispersed and unprotected, facing a "miserable life," according to Janvier Uyisaba Ndinayo, the organization's communications officer.

"We are alerting on the situation that the orphaned children who the organization 'Club changer la vie' used to support before the crisis are going through," Ndinayo stated. "For the moment, Rubare and Kalengera record a large number of orphaned children. We invite humanitarian organizations to come to the aid of these children, who are going through a difficult time."

The organization hopes for a swift mobilization of authorities and humanitarian groups to ensure these children receive essential care, education, and protection, aiming to restore their hope for a better future.
