Over 12,000 Euros Raised for Young Teo's Gene Therapy Treatment

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, over 12,000 euros were raised at a charity event held at the Kidričevo Sports Hall to support Teo, a courageous young boy facing a severe illness. Organized by OŠ Kidričevo under the slogan "The Same Sun Shines Everywhere – Let's Help Teo," the event united students, teachers, parents, and guests in a shared mission to aid Teo and his family.

Teo Slodnjak, from Tržec in the municipality of Videm pri Ptuju, requires 2.5 million euros for life-saving gene therapy treatment in the United States. His illness is progressively weakening him, dimming his childhood days, yet his enduring smile and zest for life serve as an inspiration. The initiative at OŠ Kidričevo, spearheaded by principal Alenka Kutnjak and teachers Klara Vindiš Pušnik and Alenka Emeršič, aimed to provide Teo with the best possible chance for a quality childhood.

The event featured a rich cultural program filled with music and emotional performances, fostering a deep sense of compassion among attendees. Donations were collected through designated contribution boxes and by sending SMS messages to the number 1919. The overwhelming success of the event, with a total of 12,000.91 euros raised, underscored the immense power of local solidarity.
