Over 2.234 Million Quintals of Cereals Harvested by June 12, 2026

Tunisia has harvested more than 2.234 million quintals of cereals nationwide by June 12, 2026, according to the Office des Céréales. This total comprises 2.194 million quintals intended for consumption, collected at various centers, and 40,000 quintals of raw selected seeds from production companies.

The daily collection rate has seen a significant increase across different centers, coinciding with the advancement of harvesting and reception operations in various regions. On June 12 alone, 282,000 quintals were collected. To manage this influx and ensure smooth operations, the Office des Céréales is expediting the transport of cereals to its central silos and milling facilities via truck and rail.

This accelerated transport aims to guarantee the cereal collection season, absorb potential pressure at collection points, and allow farmers to deliver their harvests under optimal conditions. The Office has urged all stakeholders to adhere to safety procedures and implement necessary preventive measures to protect the harvests. These actions are crucial for maintaining the security of the national stock and bolstering food security.
