Over 2 kg of speed seized after traffic stop in Ganshoren, Brussels

Local police in the Brussels-West zone (Jette, Ganshoren, Koekelberg, Sint-Jans-Molenbeek, Sint-Agatha-Berchem) have seized more than 2 kilograms of speed, along with smaller quantities of cocaine and ketamine. The discovery occurred after a patrol stopped a speeding vehicle whose two occupants displayed suspicious behavior.

Officers on patrol in Ganshoren noticed a vehicle traveling at excessive speed and observed the occupants repeatedly checking their mirrors and looking over their shoulders. This behavior prompted the police to stop and search the vehicle. During the initial inspection, officers found illicit substances, leading to house searches of the suspects.

The police officers also noted suspicious behavior from the two occupants, who repeatedly looked in their rearview mirrors and over their shoulders.

These searches yielded a significant haul: 2,446.41 grams of speed, 117.51 grams of cocaine, 115 grams of ketamine, and 64.52 grams of cannabis. Additionally, police confiscated packaging materials, a precision scale, and equipment used for cultivating and cutting drugs. During one of the house searches, a third individual was found in possession of narcotics.

Following their interrogation, all three suspects were handed over to the Brussels prosecutor's office. The prosecutor requested the appointment of an investigating judge, who subsequently placed the three individuals under arrest warrants.
