Over 200 Participants Begin 2nd Wamufat/NSSF Sports Camp in Ogun State

The second edition of the Wamufat Sports Camp Run Ogun has commenced in Jega Orile, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, bringing together over 200 young participants. The camp, running until August 8, is a collaborative effort between the Wamufat Youth Community Development Foundation (WYCDF), the Nigeria School Sport Federation (NSSF), the U.S.-based Run Your City (RYC), and Agroterra Resort.

For six days, children aged 10 to 16 will engage in free coaching across a range of sports, including Athletics, Football, Chess, Netball, Golf, Ayo, and Tennis. Beyond athletic training, the camp emphasizes character development through a daily curriculum of core values such as Gratitude, Respect, Excellence, Teamwork, Resilience, and Integrity. A dedicated team of coaches and mentors will guide the participants, fostering discipline and self-belief.

The camp's mission is to empower young athletes by harnessing the transformative power of sport and instilling essential life values. The program culminates on Saturday, August 8, with a vibrant community Race Day, where participants will showcase their skills and growth. This year's event builds upon the success of the inaugural camp in August 2025, which hosted over 450 children.
