Over 250 Entrepreneurs Register for Free Chamber of Commerce Bootcamp in Panama

Panama's Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Agriculture (Cciap) is launching a free bootcamp for entrepreneurs this Wednesday, August 5. The initiative aims to convert business concepts into formal enterprises, bolster the entrepreneurial landscape, and stimulate job creation within the country.

Aurelio Barría, president of Cciap, announced that more than 250 people have already signed up for the event. It will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Cciap headquarters. "It is an invitation to anyone who has an idea and wants to bring it to reality," Barría stated.

The bootcamp will gather representatives from public institutions, municipalities, businesses, and financial entities, including the Authority for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (Ampyme). The goal is to guide participants through the necessary steps for formalizing their businesses. Barría emphasized that promoting formalization is crucial, as it improves access to credit, support programs, and other growth opportunities.

Participating banks will present financing options tailored for entrepreneurs, offering attendees a centralized resource for information and contacts. The event will also cover the Entrepreneurship Society Law, specialized talks, and guidance on permits required for various business types. Barría highlighted the importance of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), which constitute 95-96% of Panama's business fabric and are vital for economic development and employment.
