Over 5,700 foreign nationals enter, exit Afghanistan in 2 months

Afghanistan recorded the movement of 5,756 foreign nationals through its airports and land borders during the first two months of the solar year 1405, which corresponds to March 21 to May 21, 2026. The National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) released the figures, detailing both entries and exits.

During this period, 2,995 foreign nationals entered Afghanistan, including 108 women. Conversely, 2,761 individuals, including 74 women, departed the country. The data indicates that land border crossings were the primary route for foreign travelers, with 2,958 people entering via land compared to 37 entering by air.

Of the foreign nationals who entered Afghanistan, 370 visited historical and archaeological sites, while the remainder were present for work-related purposes. The Nimroz border crossing registered the largest influx of foreign arrivals, with 1,773 people entering through this route. Herat's land crossings and airport followed, receiving 913 arrivals. Other border crossings, including Aqina in Faryab and Ishkashim in Badakhshan, also saw foreign visitors.
