Owerri Leaders Hail Elders Council for Ceding Governorship Slot

The Owerri Zone of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has voiced strong approval for the Imo Elders Council's resolution to grant the governorship to their zone following Governor Hope Uzodimma's term. This decision, rooted in the principle of equity, is hailed as a crucial step towards ensuring stability and a balanced political landscape within Imo State. The commendation came during a key zonal leadership meeting, where party stakeholders gathered to reinforce their internal coordination and commitment to unity.

The position was made known during the Owerri Zonal Leadership Meeting of the party, where stakeholders across various levels gathered to deliberate on party matters and strengthen internal coordination.

Hon. Justus Ogu, the Owerri Zonal Chairman, articulated the group's deep gratitude, characterizing the elders' resolution as both clear and courageous. He emphasized that this decision embodies wisdom, fairness, and a profound dedication to fostering unity across Imo State. Ogu also extended thanks to leaders from other zones whose support for the elders' position has bolstered trust and a collective sense of belonging among all communities.

Ogu further acknowledged the support shown by leaders from other zones who have openly aligned with the position of the elders council, stating that such understanding has helped to deepen trust and reinforce a shared sense of belonging across the state.
