Oyebanji reportedly defeated his opponents across all 177 wards and 16 local government areas of the state in the June 20, 2026, governorship election.

In a statement released in Ado Ekiti, the forum’s Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, commended the electorate for choosing to remain within the "progressive fold." He suggested this choice would allow them to continue benefiting from the "Renewed Hope initiatives" of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
