Oyo APC Gov Candidate Alli Receives INEC Form, Names Running Mate

Senator Sharafadeen Alli has officially received the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination form, solidifying his position as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Oyo State in the 2027 general election. The Senator representing Oyo South senatorial district also announced Mr. Adesoji Michael Adedeji, a 46-year-old Economics graduate, as his running mate.

At the event, the APC chairman in Oyo State, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, emphasized the importance of party unity. He urged members to set aside grievances and work collaboratively to ensure victory in the upcoming elections, stating, "It is better for the party to be in government than in the opposition." Adeyemo expressed confidence that Alli and Adedeji would lead the state, projecting their inauguration for May 29, 2027.

By the grace of God, come May 29, 2027, our governor and deputy governor will be Senator Sharafadeen Alli and Hon. Adesoji Adedeji. I plead with us in the name of the Lord to come together.

Mr. Gbenga Olayemi, the APC Deputy National Auditor, presented the nomination forms, referring to Senator Alli not just as a candidate but as the party's "flagbearer." He stressed that every APC member in Oyo State is a candidate in spirit, underscoring a collective effort towards winning the election.

In his acceptance speech, Senator Alli declared his emergence a collective victory and pledged to govern with fairness, accountability, and inclusivity. He thanked President Bola Tinubu, the national and state party leadership, security agencies, and party members for their support. Alli also appealed to fellow aspirants and their supporters to unite behind the party's goal of reclaiming Oyo State, highlighting the need for unity and collective commitment to move beyond the primary election.

Alli outlined his administration's priorities, which include empowering farmers, creating youth opportunities, improving education and healthcare, strengthening infrastructure, protecting the environment, and ensuring economic growth benefits all regions. He stated his government would align with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, promoting justice, fairness, accountability, compassion, and service. Alli promised to remain accessible, accountable, and a good listener, vowing not to betray the trust of the people.
