Oyo APC insists National Assembly candidate list is unchanged

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has firmly reiterated that its slate of candidates for the upcoming National Assembly elections is final and unchanged. The party's Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, issued a statement confirming that the list, which originated from the National Working Committee after reviewing primary election results, has been officially submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The list emanated from the National Working Committee of the party, which processed the results generated from the primaries conducted in May this year.

Sadare expressed surprise at reports of certain aspirants, who did not secure party tickets, misleading the public with false claims on social media. He emphasized that the names submitted to INEC are definitive, including Senator Yunus Akintunde for Oyo Central, Hon. Aderemi Oseni for Oyo South, and Mrs. Hannah Ogunesan for Oyo North Senatorial Districts. Additionally, 14 House of Representatives candidates were named, with specific constituencies listed.

For the avoidance of doubt, nothing has changed from what was made public last week.

The party stressed that the deadline for candidate nominations has passed. It urged any individuals falsely presenting themselves as APC candidates to cease immediately, warning of repercussions. The APC underscored that only one candidate can represent each position, discouraging any attempts to create internal party crises.

To this end, we urge individuals parading themselves as APC candidates illegally to desist from doing so or be ready for the consequences of their actions.
