Oyo rescue rekindles hope for safer Nigeria — Oyintiloye

The recent rescue of abducted pupils and teachers in Nigeria's Oyo State has rekindled public trust in the government's ability to address insecurity, according to a local politician.

Mr. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, stated that the successful operation frustrated attempts to politicize the incident. He highlighted it as proof of Nigeria's capacity to overcome terrorism and violent crimes.

Oyintiloye extended congratulations to President Bola Tinubu, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, the Nigerian Army, and other security agencies for their roles in securing the victims' release. He also praised the resilience of the rescued individuals and called for essential psychological support and rehabilitation.

Looking ahead, Oyintiloye urged all levels of government to enhance the nation's security framework. The APC chieftain also called for stronger actions against individuals and networks supplying weapons, vehicles, and drugs to criminal groups.
