Oyo State LGs functional, delivering projects, says Governor Makinde

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has asserted that local government councils within the state are actively functioning and successfully implementing development projects for their communities. He made these remarks during the inauguration of several key infrastructure projects at the Bodija International Market in Ibadan.

The newly commissioned facilities include a 2-kilometer road, a modern fire service station, new market shops, and an ultra-modern trailer park. These projects were executed by the Ibadan North Local Government. Governor Makinde, who named the trailer park after the Ibadan warlord Balogun Oderinlo, emphasized that these initiatives serve as clear evidence of local government councils effectively fulfilling their constitutional duties without external interference.

Makinde highlighted that the completed projects are expected to stimulate commercial activities, improve the ease of doing business, and further strengthen the state's economy. He commended the Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Seun Olufade, for his role in delivering these projects and urged traders to continue supporting the administration's vision for sustainable development, assuring them that more infrastructure projects would be facilitated under his successor.
