Ozuna kicks off 15th edition of Spain's Starlite festival

The 15th edition of the Starlite Occident festival in Marbella, Spain, has officially begun, launching with a performance by Puerto Rican artist Ozuna. Over the years, this festival has evolved from a music event into a significant cultural experience, solidifying its status as a major attraction on Spain's Costa del Sol.

Boasting a diverse lineup, the festival will feature international headliners such as Lenny Kravitz, John Legend, Deep Purple, and Rick Astley, as well as Spanish artists like Miguel Ríos, Niña Pastori, and Malú. Notably, Gloria Trevi will perform her only European concert of the year at the venue. The festival's unique setting in the La Cantera de Nagüeles natural quarry provides a distinctive backdrop for these performances.

Beyond its musical offerings, Starlite Occident serves as a substantial economic driver for Marbella and the surrounding region. It attracts over 350,000 attendees each season, with nearly half coming from outside Spain. The festival is estimated to contribute 315.5 million euros annually to Spain's GDP and create over 6,450 jobs per edition, in addition to more than 1,000 direct positions. This year, the festival will also host the 23rd edition of Univision's Premios Juventud (PJ) awards, marking its first time in Europe.
