Pakatan Harapan wants simultaneous state elections in Johor and Negeri Sembilan

Pakatan Harapan (PH) is advocating for the simultaneous holding of the Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections, according to PH Deputy Chairman Anthony Loke Siew Fook. Loke believes that consolidating the elections will enable the populace to make a clear choice regarding their preferred political coalition.

Loke pointed to the dissolution of the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly shortly after Johor's dissolution as evidence of PH's confidence in facing Barisan Nasional (BN). He recalled his earlier suggestion for a joint dissolution, noting that while Negeri Sembilan's assembly was dissolved on June 4, after a brief delay for the Ruler's consent, the key objective remains holding both elections concurrently.

"The game is on," Loke declared at the Johor PH Election Machinery Launch event. He emphasized that the unity government, led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has implemented beneficial policies, citing the continued petrol subsidy of RM1.99 per liter for 200 liters per person.

"The whole world is increasing oil prices, but in Malaysia, we are lowering oil prices," Loke stated, urging voters to consider these facts. He stressed that maintaining such policies requires political stability in Putrajaya, and therefore, voters in Johor and Negeri Sembilan should support PH to ensure Anwar Ibrahim continues to lead Malaysia.
