Pakistan Coal Mine Explosion Kills 34 Miners

A devastating explosion ripped through a coal mine in Pakistan's Balochistan province, claiming the lives of 34 miners. The incident occurred on July 30 near Quetta, the provincial capital. By July 31, authorities had confirmed the recovery of 32 bodies, with search operations continuing for the two remaining missing miners.

According to Ghani Baloch, a mining inspector for Balochistan, 42 workers were inside the mine when the explosion took place. The provincial government has pledged to provide 500,000 Pakistani rupees (approximately 58,000 New Taiwan dollars) in compensation to each of the bereaved families. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the blast and to assess safety conditions across the province's coal mines.
