Pakistan Security Forces Kill 4 Terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Operations

Pakistani security forces have eliminated four terrorists in two distinct intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to the military's media wing. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) identified the militants as belonging to "Fitna Al Khawarij," a term the state uses for members of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

On [the] reported presence of khwarij, an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted by security forces in Dera Ismail Khan district. During [the] conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged [the] khwarij location and after [an] intense exchange of fire, two khwarij … were sent to hell.

In the Dera Ismail Khan district, security forces conducted an IBO based on reported militant presence. An intense exchange of fire resulted in the neutralization of two militants. Simultaneously, another IBO in the Mohmand district led to the effective engagement and elimination of two more militants.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the terrorists, who were actively involved in terrorist activities in the region. The ISPR stated that sanitization operations are underway to find any remaining militants. This action is part of the "Azm e Istehkam" campaign, aimed at eradicating foreign-sponsored terrorism.

In [the] ensuing skillful engagement, two more khwarij were effectively neutralised.

This operation follows a recent incident where 13 terrorists were killed in KP's Darra Adamkhel area. Since the Taliban's return to power in Afghanistan in 2021, Pakistan has seen a resurgence in terrorism and has urged Afghan authorities to dismantle TTP sanctuaries, claims that have reportedly gone unheeded.
