Palace Announces Appointment Decree for Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes This Week

The Indonesian Presidential Palace has confirmed that the Presidential Decree (Kepres) appointing Kuntadi as the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) is expected to be issued this week. Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, stated that the process would be finalized shortly.

"God willing, we will complete the process this week," Prasetyo Hadi said on Monday after a meeting at the DPR (House of Representatives). He added that the decree would be officially announced to the public soon.

In the next few days it will be finished, there will definitely be a Keppres (Presidential Decree), and we will convey it to the public.

The appointment comes after the resignation of the former Jampidsus, Febrie Adriansyah, who is reportedly entangled in a legal proceeding. Kuntadi currently holds the position of Head of the Asset Recovery Agency within the Attorney General's Office. His proposed appointment, along with other candidates suggested by the Attorney General, will be subject to an assessment by the Final Assessment Team (TPA), a standard procedure for such high-level appointments.
