Palace Responds to Gibran's Seating Arrangement at Cabinet Session

Presidential Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has clarified the seating arrangement of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka during a recent plenary cabinet meeting, stating it was purely a technical matter. Gibran was seated with the Coordinating Ministers, not beside President Prabowo Subianto as might be expected.

Hadi explained that President Prabowo required a teleprompter to present the cabinet's achievements during the meeting. This technical need dictated the President's central position, which in turn influenced the seating layout for others, including the Vice President. Hadi stressed that this arrangement held no deeper meaning and should not be a cause for concern.

That is why, answering the question about the layout, if you observed yesterday, the President was in the middle. And if the question is about the Vice President's position, in our view, this is just a matter of technical necessity, nothing else needs to be worried about.

"This is merely a matter of technical necessity, nothing else needs to be worried about," Hadi told reporters at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday. He reiterated that the seating arrangement was not related to the cabinet's unity, asserting that the "Merah Putih" cabinet is currently very cohesive and collectively striving to achieve the President's directives.

Instead of focusing on seating positions, Hadi urged attention to the substance of the meeting. He highlighted that the plenary session was dedicated to evaluating the achievements of the Merah Putih cabinet over the past 21 months under the leadership of President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, noting that numerous accomplishments have been made.
