Panama agency follows up on alleged student assault at Veraguas boarding school

Panama's National Secretariat for Children, Adolescents and Family (Senniaf) has intervened in a case at the IPT Jesús Héctor Gallego boarding school in Veraguas, where a 13-year-old student allegedly faced assault and threats with a bladed weapon from fellow students. The incident has prompted an investigation by the Public Ministry.

Senniaf's regional technical team met with the school's administration to understand the disciplinary actions taken. They also met with the student's parents, who provided details about the situation. The family received guidance and support, with Senniaf emphasizing the need for comprehensive protection and the guarantee of the minor's rights and well-being.

The alleged bullying and violence occurred at the boarding school, which houses students from various parts of the province.
