Panama authorities search for taxi driver after vehicle found abandoned

Authorities in Panama City are conducting a search for a taxi driver who has gone missing. The driver's vehicle was discovered abandoned in the Tierra Prometida sector, near the area known as Corredor de los Pobres. The case began when the person who rents out the taxi noticed it had not been returned on time. Using the vehicle's GPS, the rental operator located the taxi in the La Química sector of Tierra Prometida. Police responded to the location and initiated a search for the driver and to gather information about the circumstances. Unconfirmed reports suggest the driver may have been seen with two other people in a white vehicle during the night, but this remains a line of investigation. Family members have filed a missing person report. Investigators are continuing their efforts in the area to locate the driver and determine what happened to him and the abandoned taxi.
