Panama denies entry to Colombian with alleged FARC ties

Panama's National Migration Service (SNM) prevented a Colombian citizen with a criminal history and alleged links to the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) from entering the country. The intervention occurred at Tocumen International Airport during routine immigration checks.

Security and intelligence systems alerted authorities after detecting the traveler's criminal record and risk profile. Following confirmation of this information, immigration inspectors denied her entry and ordered her immediate return to Colombia, adhering to the nation's immigration laws.

The SNM stated that it maintains constant surveillance at all border control points to enhance national security and ensure compliance with Panamanian legislation. This action follows a similar incident where a Mexican national allegedly linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel was denied entry.
