Panama facilitates citizen's return from Russia after military disassociation

Panama's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the return of Adrián González Morán, a Panamanian citizen who was in Russia after being disassociated from the country's military forces. The ministry stated that the Panamanian Embassy in Moscow offered support and consular assistance throughout the process of facilitating his return.

Ambassador Carmen Ávila personally accompanied González Morán to the airport to ensure his safe departure. The citizen reportedly sustained injuries, and Russian Federation authorities granted the necessary permissions for his exit. A consular official from Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs also escorted him to the boarding gate.

González Morán financed his own return flight via Turkish Airlines and is expected to arrive in Panama City soon. Upon his arrival, the Panamanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to provide consular support and monitor his situation in coordination with relevant national institutions.

This case follows concerns raised by families of other Panamanians recruited into the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, who have been seeking answers and justice.
