Panama's U23 Baseball Team Announces World Cup Schedule in Nicaragua

Panama's U23 national baseball team is gearing up for the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-23 Baseball World Cup 2026, set to take place in Nicaragua. The Panamanian squad will commence their campaign on November 6, facing Puerto Rico in their opening match. The game is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the Estadio Soberanía in Managua.

Placed in Group A, Panama will compete against a challenging field that includes Taiwan, the Czech Republic, Australia, Puerto Rico, and the host nation, Nicaragua. The team faces an intense schedule in this preliminary phase as they aim to secure a spot in the next round.

Following their debut against Puerto Rico, Panama's schedule includes games against the Czech Republic on November 7 (10:30 a.m.), Taiwan on November 8 (2:30 p.m.), Nicaragua on November 9 (6:30 p.m.), and Australia on November 10 (6:00 p.m.). Success in this group stage will lead them to the Super Round, which is slated to begin on November 12.

The U-23 Baseball World Cup is the premier international baseball championship for national teams under the age of 23, organized by the WBSC. Evolving from the U-21 Baseball World Cup, which began in 2014, this biennial tournament brings together 12 national teams. The 2024 edition saw Japan emerge as champions, defending their title by defeating Puerto Rico 5-0 in the final. Nicaragua was confirmed as the host for the 2026 tournament, with dates set from November 6 to November 15.
