Panama Social Security Fund opens Sunday offices for pension guidance

Panama's Caja de Seguro Social (CSS) is set to open its administrative offices this Sunday, August 16, providing crucial guidance to insured members regarding the 'Mi Retiro Seguro' (My Secure Retirement) program. This special Sunday service aims to address any lingering questions and ensure members fully understand their options before the August 18 deadline for selecting the new pension system.

The initiative will allow users to review their individual account status and receive direct orientation from CSS representatives. With the deadline fast approaching, the institution strongly encourages all insured individuals with outstanding queries to take advantage of this extended service. The CSS emphasized that this is a final opportunity for many to clarify details about their pension choices.

However, the CSS also noted that several agencies will not be operational on Sunday. These include offices in Volcán, Puerto Armuelles, and Boquete in Chiriquí province; Soná in Veraguas; La Villa in Los Santos; San Carlos and Panamá Pacífico in Panamá Oeste; and Chepo in Panamá Este. The institution did not provide specific reasons for these closures but advised members to confirm the operating status of their local branch if unsure.

In a separate note, the CSS apologized for recent confusion at the El Dorado agency, where incorrect information about closing times was provided on Saturday. The institution acknowledged internal adjustments led to this error, which affected some members seeking assistance. They reiterated their commitment to delivering accurate information about 'Mi Retiro Seguro' and improving service quality.
