Panama U-17 Football Team Begins Sixth Training Camp Ahead of World Cup

Panama's U-17 men's national football team is intensifying its preparations for the upcoming World Cup with its sixth training camp. Under the guidance of head coach Felipe Baloy, the squad will convene from Monday, August 24, to Wednesday, August 26, 2026. This intensive preparation is crucial as the team gears up for the global tournament scheduled for November.

Coach Baloy has selected a roster of 27 players, drawing talent from both the Liga Panameña de Fútbol (LPF) and various football academies across the country. The selected players represent a mix of established young talents and emerging prospects, all vying for a spot in the final World Cup squad. The training sessions will be held at two different locations: the Mañanitas Country Club for afternoon sessions on August 24 and 25, and the Centro de Alto Rendimiento (CAR) in Burunga for a morning session on August 26.

The 'Canalera' squad faces a challenging start to the World Cup, with their opening match set for November 19, 2026. They are scheduled to face the host nation, Qatar, in Doha's Aspire Zone as part of the opening day fixtures for Group A. This encounter will set the tone for Panama's campaign in the prestigious youth tournament.
