Panamanian boxer Nataly Delgado receives her world champion belt

Panamanian boxer Nataly Delgado officially received her World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Flyweight world championship belt during a ceremony presided over by WBA President Gilberto Jesús Mendoza. Delgado secured the title on June 13, defeating the then-champion Jasmine Artiga by unanimous decision in a bout held in Orlando, Florida.

"I feel a multitude of emotions. The truth is that receiving this long-desired title now mine covers all my expectations and surpasses them," said Delgado, who hails from the province of Veraguas. She expressed deep gratitude to President Mendoza for personally presenting the title. Delgado's professional record stands at 21 wins, including five knockouts, seven losses, and two draws.

President Mendoza emphasized his personal involvement, stating, "I wanted to do it personally and didn't want to send any intermediaries, but I had to be here in person. Panama means a lot to me." Delgado now joins an elite group of Panamanian female boxers, becoming the third from the country to achieve a professional world championship title, following in the footsteps of Ana Pascal and Chantal Martínez.

The super flyweight division, also known as super flyweight or super flyweight, encompasses boxers weighing over 50.802 kg (112 pounds) up to 52.163 kg (115 pounds). This category is recognized for its fast-paced, technical fights, where competitors combine speed, precision, and endurance with good power for their weight class. It is currently one of the most competitive divisions in women's professional boxing, featuring top talent from countries like Japan, Mexico, and Argentina.
