Panathinaikos signs Moroccan midfielder Imran Louza from Watford

Greek football club Panathinaikos has officially bolstered its squad with the signing of Moroccan international midfielder Imran Louza from English club Watford. The transfer marks a significant acquisition for the "Greens" as they aim to strengthen their midfield.

Louza, 27, has penned a three-year deal with an option for a further year. The transfer fee is reported to be approximately 7 million euros, reflecting the player's market value and experience. This move brings a dynamic presence to Panathinaikos's lineup.

Born in Nantes, France, Louza began his career in the youth academy of FC Nantes, eventually making his professional debut in 2019. He became a key player for Nantes, scoring 12 goals in 66 appearances before moving to Watford in the summer of 2021. With Watford, he experienced both the Premier League and the Championship, establishing himself as a regular starter.

In January 2024, Louza had a loan spell at French club Lorient before returning to Watford for two more seasons. In total, he amassed 141 appearances, scored 15 goals, and provided 22 assists for the English club. Internationally, Louza has represented both Morocco and France at youth levels but has committed to playing for the Moroccan senior national team since 2021, earning 15 caps and scoring on his debut.
