Panhellenic Championships: Double gold for Emmanouilidou and Spanoudaki in historic 100m tie

An exceptionally rare moment occurred at the Panhellenic Championships as Poliniki Emmanouilidou and Rafaela Spanoudaki finished in an exact dead heat for the gold medal in the women's 100-meter race. Both sprinters crossed the finish line with an identical time of 11.37 seconds, precisely matching each other down to the thousandths of a second (.370).

This historic tie resulted in the shared victory, with Dimitra Tsoukala securing the bronze medal at 11.54 seconds. Hero Papadakeri followed in fourth place with 11.61 seconds, a new personal best that highlights her improving performance.

In the men's 100-meter final, Sotiris Garakganis lived up to his favorite status, successfully defending his title from the previous year. He won the race in 10.24 seconds, setting a new personal best for the season. Giannis Myrianthopoulos took second place with 10.39 seconds, and Panagiotis Panagiotopoulos claimed the bronze medal with 10.40 seconds in a closely contested final.

The championships also saw Christos Panagiotis Routsios win his first national outdoor title in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing in 13.90 seconds. Sofia Kamperidou surprised in the women's 100-meter hurdles, capturing her first national gold medal with a time of 13.42 seconds, narrowly beating last year's champion Sofia Iosifidou. Martha Neamoniti completed the podium with a new personal best of 13.67 seconds.
