PAOK BC Faces Disciplinary Hearing Over Alleged Fan Violence After Panathinaikos Game

PAOK BC has been summoned to a hearing by the Hellenic Basketball Federation's Disciplinary Committee (DEAB) to answer for alleged violent incidents following a playoff game against Panathinaikos. The committee announced that serious acts of violence were recorded at the "Palataki" arena.

According to the DEAB's statement, fans of the Thessaloniki-based club reportedly acted aggressively towards the tunnel used by Panathinaikos players for their entry and exit from the court. The committee's announcement specifically details violence, threats, and verbal abuse directed at the visiting team's athletes and entourage. It also mentions repeated physical assaults, including punches and kicks, by PAOK fans within the protective tunnel as the opposing team retreated to their locker rooms.

The hearing is scheduled for June 9, 2026. The DEAB is investigating the events that transpired after the PAOK BC vs. Panathinaikos BC game on May 30, 2026, in Thessaloniki. The committee is applying Article 1 of Law 4326/2015, as amended by Article 104 of Law 5224/2025, which addresses sports-related violence.

We call for a hearing on 09/06/2026 for KAE PAOK, regarding a serious phenomenon of violence, related to sports and allegedly took place after the end of the match KAE PAOK – KAE PANATHINAIKOS, on 30/05/2026, at the "PAOK SPORTS ARENA" in Thessaloniki, for the Playoffs of the Basket League championship, period 2025/2026 and specifically concerns violence, threats and verbal abuse towards the athletes and entourage of the visiting KAE, as well as repeated violent pushes with fists and kicks by fans of KAE PAOK, within the protective tunnel of the stadium, through which the visitors passed on their way to the locker rooms.
