PAOK FC Nears Deal for Partizan Midfielder Ogjen Ugrešić

PAOK FC is making a significant transfer move, having reached a verbal agreement with Partizan Belgrade to acquire Serbian midfielder Ogjen Ugrešić. The 20-year-old Serbian talent is viewed as the club's first major acquisition since the departure of Giannis Konstantelias to Borussia Dortmund.

The Thessaloniki-based club is investing a substantial sum in a player with considerable development potential. Negotiations with the Belgrade team have progressed significantly, with both sides agreeing on a deal estimated to be around eight million euros. The transfer is now awaiting final details and necessary procedures for completion.

As part of the agreement, a friendly match will be played between PAOK and Partizan, forming part of the overall deal between the two clubs. Ugrešić is recognized as one of Partizan's most promising talents in recent years. He emerged from the club's academy and, at just 20 years old, has already secured a leading role in the first team.

His versatile playing style offers multiple options in midfield. Ugrešić can operate as a central midfielder, play a more advanced attacking role, or function deeper in the midfield axis. He is distinguished by his technical skill, contribution to build-up play, and his ability to reach the final third of the pitch. In the 2024-25 season, he recorded 11 appearances and three goals in the league, followed by 37 appearances, six goals, and four assists in the 2025-26 season.

Following the sale of Konstantelias, PAOK's pursuit of Ugrešić signals an intention to reinvest funds into quality players with potential and resale value, making a strategic move for both the present and the future.
