PT Jamkrida Papua is strategically backing its mentored micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) by promoting their flagship products at the national Dewan Kerajinan Nasional Daerah (Dekranasda) event in Makassar. This initiative aims to expand the market reach for these regional specialties to a national level.

Desty Pongsikabe, the President Director of PT Jamkrida Papua, highlighted the significant market value of authentic Papuan handicrafts. "Papuan handicrafts have a very good selling value, where their authenticity is a positive value," she stated. The company is providing financial assistance to ensure the smooth participation of UMKM and the Dekranasda Papua delegation in the Makassar event. Pongsikabe reiterated the company's commitment to strengthening UMKM as a key driver of the regional economy through various collaborations designed to boost the competitiveness of native Papuan products.

The participation in the 46th Dekranas anniversary celebration is not solely focused on increasing product sales. It also aims to create opportunities for collaboration with buyers, distributors, and investors from across the country. The Secretary of Dekranasda Papua, Yoniman Ronting, confirmed that the Papua contingent has prepared a variety of superior craft products that reflect the rich culture and creativity of local artisans. These include wood bark paintings from Jayapura Regency, coconut shell crafts from Jayapura City, and seashell decorations from Biak, among other handmade items.

Papua has secured four exhibition booths at the event, which will be fully utilized to display the works of artisans from various regencies and cities within the province. To further engage visitors and enhance market reach, artisans will be present to demonstrate their carving processes live at the exhibition stands. This direct engagement is expected to attract visitor interest, broaden marketing networks, and ultimately increase the competitiveness of Papuan UMKM in the national market.
