Paraguay: Influencer Arrested for Displaying Cash at Polls; Mother Tries to Steal Evidence

During Paraguay's municipal elections, influencer Franccesco Nathannael Canatta González, known as "Masivo Bro," was apprehended for provocatively displaying 10 million guaraníes in cash at a Luque polling station. The fiscal, Sandra Ledesma, stated the influencer's actions seemed to incite illegal activities and showed a "total lack of respect."

Adding to the drama, Canatta González's mother, Josefina González de Canatta, was arrested for attempting to steal the confiscated cash from the police station where it was being held as evidence. Fiscal Ledesma confirmed the mother was caught in the act.

Overall, the elections saw between 10 and 12 individuals detained across the country for various electoral offenses. The Public Ministry deployed over a hundred agents to coordinate with the National Police and Electoral Justice to address complaints, although the situation was largely controlled after initial incidents in some districts.
