Paraguay Issues Storm Alert With Winds Over 90 km/h

Paraguay's Directorate of Meteorology has issued a special bulletin warning of storms expected to impact the country from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday. The system is forecast to bring strong winds exceeding 90 km/h and significant rainfall, with accumulated precipitation potentially reaching 60 mm in some areas.

The initial impact is anticipated in the southern departments, with the storm system progressively extending to the rest of the Oriental Region by Wednesday. Specific areas like Ñeembucú, Misiones, Paraguarí, and Central will experience accumulated rainfall between 20-30 mm and winds gusting around 70 km/h. More intense conditions are predicted for the southeast of Ñeembucú and southern/eastern Misiones, as well as Itapúa, where rainfall could reach 40-60 mm with gusts up to 90 km/h or more.

Other regions, including Caazapá, Guairá, Cordillera, Caaguazú, Alto Paraná, Canindeyú, San Pedro, and Concepción, will also face storms. These areas can expect rainfall between 20-30 mm and winds around 70 km/h, with the southeastern parts of Alto Paraná potentially seeing 40-60 mm of rain and gusts over 90 km/h. The Directorate of Meteorology recommends continuous monitoring of weather updates.
