Paraguay Receives 21 Bids for Bañado Tacumbú Housing Project

Paraguay's Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) has received 21 economic offers for the construction of the first homes in the new Bañado Tacumbú neighborhood. This significant urban development project will be built on 67 hectares of land reclaimed from flooding along Asunción's Costanera Sur. The initiative is designed to benefit 2,500 families and carries a reference budget of G. 355.160 million.

The opening of the bid envelopes took place recently, attended by representatives from the bidding firms and MOPC authorities. The companies and consortia that submitted proposals include Ritter Construcciones, Tecnoedil S.A. Constructora, Ginsa S.A., and several consortia such as Consorcio CN Sur and Consorcio Videl Sur, among others. The bids are now undergoing a thorough technical and economic evaluation by the Evaluation Committee, a process that has a 20-working-day timeframe, extendable for a similar period, before a recommendation for awarding the contracts can be made.

The construction of the homes has been divided into nine lots. These range from lots for 120 dwellings each to those involving the construction of multi-family apartment buildings. The project envisions a fully planned neighborhood complete with streets, potable water and sanitation networks, electricity, public spaces, and community facilities, aiming to provide a modern living environment for its future residents. This development is part of a larger plan to revitalize the Bañado Sur area, transforming it into a non-floodable zone with improved infrastructure and housing.
