Paraguay Rekove begins international tour of Spain and Italy

The folkloric ensemble Paraguay Rekove is set to embark on a new international tour, gracing stages in Spain and Italy from August 11 to August 24, 2026. This tour marks another significant step for the group, which has dedicated over 12 years to showcasing traditional Paraguayan dances worldwide.

Comprised of 20 dancers and led by Professor Gianni Pizzani, Paraguay Rekove will present a repertoire featuring beloved Paraguayan dances such as 'Galoperas,' 'Arrieros,' and 'Botelleras,' accompanied by traditional Paraguayan music, with a special emphasis on the polka. The performances are scheduled to take place in various locations, including the Canary Islands, Lanzarote, and Tenerife in Spain, as well as Rome and Sermoneta in Italy.

This extensive international journey is being undertaken through a self-managed initiative, with the group members personally covering costs and organizing activities. While the tour is primarily self-funded, Paraguay Rekove has secured sponsorships from various brands for products. The group operates under the powerful motto, 'Making homeland through art,' underscoring their commitment to promoting Paraguayan culture abroad.

Paraguay Rekove has a rich history of international representation, having performed in 29 countries across different continents. This upcoming tour further solidifies their mission to share the vibrant heritage of Paraguayan folk art with global audiences. The group has also extended invitations to the Paraguayan embassies in Spain and Italy to participate in and support their upcoming events.
