Paraguay's Economy Ministry Continues Public Official Salary Payments Through July 31

Paraguay's Ministry of Economy and Finance is proceeding with salary payments for public officials throughout July. This Wednesday, July 29, salaries for personnel from the Public Forces and the Judiciary are being disbursed. The payment schedule, set by the economic ministry, extends until Friday, July 31.

Specifically, employees from the Ministry of the Interior (National Police), Ministry of National Defense (Military), Supreme Court of Justice, Electoral Justice, and the Public Ministry are receiving their pay. Additionally, staff from the Council of the Magistracy, the Court of Criminal Cassation, the Public Defense Ministry, the General Trusteeship of Bankruptcies, and the General Comptroller's Office are also included in this payment round.

The schedule continues on Thursday, July 30, with payments for employees of the Ministry of Education and Sciences (MEC) and national universities. The MEC has 92,808 teaching positions registered for the 2026 General National Budget.

Payments concluded on Friday, July 31, with pending personal services. Previously, on the preceding Friday, the MEF disbursed payments to veterans, pensioners, and beneficiaries of the Universal Pension Program for Older Adults, which had over 376,000 beneficiaries as of June 2026, with a monthly allowance of G. 724,762.

On Monday, payments were made to retirees, heirs, and pensioners from the Fiscal Fund. On Tuesday, salary disbursements began for employees of 47 state entities. Data from the Ministry of Economy shows that in June, contributions to the Public Entities Pension Fund totaled G. 321,412 million, while expenditures reached G. 529,185 million, resulting in a deficit of G. 207,773 million (approximately US$34 million).
