Paraguay U20 Women's Team Competes for President's Cup in China World Championship

The Paraguayan U20 women's national handball team is currently competing in the IHF World Championship in Jinzhong, China. Having been eliminated from the main championship phase after losing all three preliminary group matches, the team now participates in the President's Cup, a secondary tournament for lower-ranked teams.

Paraguay's journey in the President's Cup has seen mixed results. They suffered a significant defeat against Egypt, losing 40-17 in their first match of the secondary competition. However, the team bounced back in their second fixture, securing a narrow 28-27 victory over India, with Melissa Parra scoring the winning goal in the final second.

The team's performance in the preliminary round saw them lose to Serbia (40-15), Austria (29-15), and Angola (24-11). In the President's Cup, they are competing in Group 1, aiming for placements between 17th and 32nd overall in the championship. Their next match is scheduled against New Guinea.
